HOW TO MAKE IS A BELLA’S BREW

Bring a tropical vibe to your day with one of the first loose leaf tea blends I created, which was Is a Bella’s Brew. This is a coconut and strawberry based tea and tisane made for a friend as part of our Personali-TEA range.

What is a Personali-TEA range?

Personali-Tea is a bespoke service that we offer, where we create a specific blend or supply a current blend for special occasions, such as a birthday party, baby shower, weddings or corporate events.

Essentially I create a blend based on your needs. Is a Bella’s Brew was created for a baby shower and the babies name is Isabella which inspired the name of this blend.

The only requirement I was given was that the blend had to go with Spiced Rum! I only make blends from all-natural ingredients, no added sugar or flavourings. I put my thinking hat on as to which flavours work well with rum. The expectant mother has Indian roots so I thought Coconut would represent her well, while the expectant father has English roots, anyone for tennis? Wimbledon wouldn’t be the same without strawberries & cream! Is a Bella’s brew was born. Now, we all know that we should not consume too much caffeine whilst pregnant and I wanted the mother to be able to enjoy the tea as well, so, I decided to make both a tea version made with Assam tea a herbal version.

If you are looking for something a bit different or quirky and want to add your own Personali-tea to your events then contact us today for more information or to discuss your needs and find out how we can make it happen!

THE FLAVOUR

Is a Bella’s Brew (herbal infusion) has a lovely light pink colour when brewed. A strawberry flavour with a subtle coconut flavour coming through. there is a natural sweetness to this blend.

Is a Bella’s Brew (tea) has a caramel colour, a malty flavour with a creaminess texture created by the coconut so there is no need to add milk.

HOW TO MAKE

Each ingredient in looseleaf teas and blends take their own time to release their flavours once they are placed in boiling water. For this reason, it is always best to follow the instructions on the packaging for the temperature it should be and the length of time to be steeped.

Coconut, in particular, can take a while to infuse into the water so it usually needs a bit longer steeping time. Check out how to get the best results below!

Method

  • Use fresh water in your kettle or pot boil and boil to 100℃.
  • Place 2 tsp of Is a Bella’s brew or Is a Bella’s brew (tea) per person in your infuser and place in a cup or teapot.
  • Pour your hot water over the blend in the cup or teapot. For best results leave to steep for about 12 – 15+ mins. Otherwise, it will taste quite weak. It might seem like it takes a while but good things come to those who wait!

You can drink the tea on its own or add a shot of spiced rum! Want to learn how to make this as a cocktail? Why not join us for one of our Mocktail and Cocktail ParTEA’s, book now
