One of the first types of tea I was given by my mother when I was a child was peppermint tea, I used to suffer from stomach aches when I was younger and in Jamaica we used it as a folk remedy to help ease the pain. When we moved to the UK in 1993 I recall a time when I had a very sore stomach my mum gave me peppermint tea and she had taken me to the doctor, back then they didn’t seem to know about its benefits and the doctor told my mother not to give me “that type of tea anymore”. Since then it has been prescribed for many ailments and is a wonderful plant to have in your kitchen cupboard or your garden (fresh mint smells amazing!)

GRIOGAIR’S WAY: BABY LOSS AWARENESS

It is Bereaved Parents Month and we are wanting to help raise awareness for Baby Loss and help to support parents going through premature birth. A close friend of mine went through this terrible experience 5 years ago and decided to set up a site to help support other parents going through similar experiences. It is called Griogair’s Way after their son who sadly passed away after a premature birth. Mentally, emotionally and physically this is a hard thing to go through and If you know anyone going through a similar experience who could use some support please spread the word. There are a-lot of tips and advice on there and will be updated as time goes on.
